t an early age, Louis Tortorici left his native Italy for New Orleans.
As a young man he founded the Contessa Entellina Society and on September 8, 1886 he
became the society's first president.
His son Anthony arrived in New Orleans at the age of 9 years. After
working several years for his father and other merchants, he opened
Tortorici's with the assistance of his father.
With four generations of families contributing to the success of
Tortorici's - it has made this fine Italian / Creole restaurant a true
landmark in the historic French quarter. Our chef has blended Northern Italian cuisine
with a balance of Creole and Cajun - Tortorici's has become "a restaurant not to be
missed" while visiting New Orleans.

Established in 1900, Tortorici's is the oldest Italian restaurant in the French
Quarter. However, the management is always trying out new and fresh ideas. As a toast to the new year,
Tortorici's has an expanded menu with additional entrees, soups and salads to complement
its northern Italian fare. Dine in style amid live piano sounds and the triple pleasures
of Tortorici's trio: a tender filet in a hunter's reduction glaze, a sautéed breast of
chicken in crawfish sauce, and fantail Louisiana shrimp with roasted garlic scampi.
Other pleasures are steak Pizziola, blackened
chicken Caesar salad and domestic mushroom and artichoke soup. Lunch, dinner and late night
service daily.
